Essential Oils: Custom Aromatherapy Blends

Custom blending is the heart of Cameron's practice in Austin. Virtually every session begins with the selection of a group of essential oils. I use a number of methods to draw out those essential oils which are most beneficial to you. Selections are made analytically, according to known actions and characteristics of essential oils, and intuitively using dowsing. Of course, this blend attempts to address the conditions and goals of each individual. This blend is primarily therapeutic, whereas the personal aroma is chosen purely for fragrance.

I began this blending process ten years ago, using a pendulum to dowse for those essential oils that are "most beneficial to you at this time." I find the dowsing invaluable in its ability to focus the blend upon core issues for the individual. It seems like an aromatic Tarot reading to me... Then I analyze the combination from a more traditional aromatherapy approach looking for contraindications and synergies. This process is informed by my own work and my research into the more medicinal and skin-care traditions of aromatherapists like Jean Valnet, MD; Kurt Schnaubelt, PhD; Marcel LeVabre; Marguerite Maury; Shirley Price and Julia Lawless.

All custom blends are made to order from a palette of over 100 different essential oils to create a unique experience for each client. Your blend will contain approximately 15 to 30 drops of 100% essential oils. I will provide suggested uses and dilutions; detailed information about each essential oil in your blend along with the exact formula so you can reproduce it; and I may comment on the story told by your particular combination of essential oils.
