Essential Oils: Aroma-Massage Blends

Some of these blends are based on recipes provided by Dr. Kurt Schnaubelt PhD (holding a doctorate in chemistry from Technical University in Munich) of the Pacific Institute of Aromatherapy. Other blends are a direct result of necessity and creative experimentation by Cameron. All strive to combine essential oils so that their curative properties are enhanced.

Allergy Remedy
Dr. Kurt Schnaubelt's simple, effective blend with antihistamine action. This formula is 100% essential oil; use only a few drops at a time. Allergy remedy helps clear your head and prevent a histamine response to allergens. In the morning put one to two drops in eight ounces of water and drink. Throughout the day as needed, put one drop in your palm and rub hands together. Then cup hands around your mouth and nose and breathe deeply. You may also put one drop in your palm and mix with a little water to rinse your face. Caution: Do not use for children under 10 years or while pregnant.

Skin Detox Blend
Originally developed to amplify the Aroma-Massage salt glow spa treatment, this blend of 100% essential oils is all about releasing toxins from the skin cells. Dilute before applying to the skin: 10 to 13 drops per oz of carrier oil for a wonderful after-shower body rub; or for a salt glow, 2-3 drops with 1 oz sea salt, 3 oz epsom salt, 2 teaspoons glycerin and enough aloe gel to get the desired consistency (about 2 oz or 4 tablespoons). Rub this mixture into your skin, always in the direction of your heart with swift long strokes. It's messy so do it in the shower. Use over the whole body or just on areas affected by cellulite. It includes juniper, bay laurel, atlas cedar, sweet orange, and other essential oils. Cautions: Do not use skin detox blend on the delicate skin of the face and nipples. Contra-indicated for those with cystitis or kidney issues. Use frequently for no longer than 3 weeks at a time: once a week is a good rate for long-term use. Pregnant women should avoid altogether. Use sun protection for 3-4 hours after use due to increased susceptibility to UV rays.
